Do we have to pay for mooring overnight?

Moorings on most canals are free. You can moor anywhere on the towpath side, provided there are no signs prohibiting it and there are often special mooring sites near towns, some of which are specially reserved for visitors, you sometimes are limited to staying for 48 hours. Many pubs have their own moorings. Some popular areas fill up early during the summer. Some moorings sites have rings or bollards to tie to, but usually you must knock two of the mooring spikes that we provide into the towpath, then tie the boat to them. Don't worry, we'll show you how! Just make sure that they don't block the towpath.
